Spotlight: Facebook to expand Instant Articles to Messenger

Facebook's Instant Articles are designed to deliver faster-loading content to mobile users, and now the social network has unveiled plans to expand the offering to content shared in its Facebook Messenger app.

Instant Articles works by loading content from participating publishers directly into the app itself, cutting back on load times that leave users waiting.

"Facebook says the articles will load up to 10 times faster than traditional links," according to The Next Web. "It's also particularly handy for people who are on slow or capped data connections, as Instant Articles reduce the amount of data needed to load a post." Read more.
